Garden Party · Cobalt tulips and songbirds on soft white

Blue-and-white, straight from the china cabinet

If you collect blue-and-white china, this tray will feel like it was made for your shelves. It is classic and crisp, and it never looks out of season. Mix it with ginger jars and willow plates without a second thought.

The artwork

Cobalt tulips, small songbirds and swirling vines are painted in brushwork inspired by traditional Dutch tin-glazed pottery. Every stroke is a single shade of deep blue on a soft white ground, just like a hand-painted tile.

Serving ideaServe afternoon tea with blue-and-white cups and a plate of lemon bars.
