A lemon grove for the lemonade

Some patterns simply belong beside a sweating pitcher on a hot afternoon, and this is ours. The blue ground feels like a clear July sky, while the fruit glows sunny and bright. It makes even a plain glass of iced water look like an occasion.

The artwork

Plump lemons hang from leafy branches with a scatter of small white citrus flowers, painted loosely in gouache so the brushwork still shows. Glossy greens and buttery yellows sit on a soft sky-blue ground that runs right to the rim.

Care

• Wipe with a soft damp cloth, a drop of mild soap if needed, then dry straight away
• Not dishwasher safe; do not soak or submerge
• Not for oven or microwave; set hot dishes on a trivet
• Place food on a plate or parchment rather than directly on the print; not a cutting board
